☀ Good morning! ☕
Have you ever noticed that some of the biggest decisions in our lives rarely feel big when we make them? 🤔
Yet when we’re standing at the crossroads, we desperately want certainty.
Psychologists and behavioral experts even have a name for this tendency. 🧠 They call it maximizing, the habit of searching endlessly for the perfect option. Research has shown that maximizers often spend so much time deciding, experience regret afterwards, and are generally unsatisfied with the choices they finally make.
💭 Perhaps that’s because life has never offered guarantees.
Think about the great voyages of history. 🌍⛵
Explorers who crossed vast oceans didn’t know exactly what waited hidden beyond the horizon..
They gathered the best possible information they had, chose a direction, and adjusted along the way as they went..
✨ Progress came not from perfect prediction, but from continual course correction.
Maybe our own lives work much the same way.
We often assume successful people made better choices.
But, reading many biographies, we now know that their choices became worthwhile mainly because of what they put into them. 📚
The same seems true beyond careers.
🤝 Friendships don’t become meaningful because we found the perfect friend.
They become meaningful because of what we put into them.
❤ Relationships rarely flourish because we chose flawlessly.
They flourish because we keep choosing each other.
🌱 Many of life’s most important decisions reveal their value only after we’ve lived them for a while.
Perhaps the question isn’t…
💬 “Did I make the perfect choice?”
Perhaps it’s…
💙 “What can I do today that makes this choice even more meaningful?”
❓ Have you ever made a decision that you then had to make right?

Until tomorrow, 🌼
